Dr C B Jani has served on various teaching posts at three different medical colleges (Jamnagar, Anand & Ahmedabad of Gujarat state) and carried out many Forensic examinations as a part of Criminal procedural investigation in offences against human body (S.299 to S.377 of Indian Penal Code – Chapter XVI) and other offences involving human subjects.
The diverse Forensic Medicine examination includes conduct/ supervision of medico legal autopsy and clinical cases brought – requested by concerned police authorities.
Subsequently, he has deposed as Medical/Expert witness with reference to summons from court of trial of the concerned cases; having legal jurisdiction in western and central Gujarat.
It is pertinent to note that proposition deduced from one of his research publication that “…compos mentis is neither affected by burns nor by treatment….” has been cited in CRL A.10/2000 IN THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI AT NEW DELHI. (Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. Khanna, Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. Kumar.
Requisite medical and legal qualifications coupled with about 28 years long professional experience as medico legal practitioner can serve assistance at pre trial and intra trial proceedings related to offences against human body (S.299 to S.377 of Indian Penal Code – Chapter XVI) and other offences involving human subjects.
